    1.5.11.7 - Tank Certification of Safety:
    • "Submit certification, in accordance with NFPA 326, from a CIH [or Certified Marine Chemist] stating that tank is safe for hot work and that special precautionary measures have been taken for workers to enter the tank to perform the work"

Our U.S. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and technicians perform Postconstruction, Preoccupancy Baseline IAQ Monitoring as required by:

  • ANSI/ASHRAE/ICC/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1-2020
    Section 10.7.2:
    • Baseline IAQ testing shall be conducted after construction ends and prior to occupancy
    • Sampling consists of 4 non-volatile organic compounds and 32 volatile organic compounds
    • At least 1 sample for each 2,500 m2 of construction
    • For each sampling point where the maximum concentration limits are exceeded, flush-out with outdoor air must be conducted
    • The specific parameters exceeded must be retested to demonstrate that the requirements have been achieved
    • The procedure must be repeated until all requirements have been met

Our U.S. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) can fulfill the role of the Safety and Health Manager (SHM) for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), as required at:

  • US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1, Section 33.C.01
    • "The Safety and Health Manager (SHM) must meet the qualifications and fulfill the responsibilities stated below for all hazardous waste operations. The SHM, dependent upon the contaminant-related hazards on the project, shall be a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP)"
    • SHM main responsibilities are:
      • Developing, maintaining, and overseeing implementation of the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
      • Remaining available for project emergencies
      • Developing modifications to the SSHP as needed
      • Evaluating occupational exposure monitoring/air sampling data and adjusting SSHP requirements as necessary
      • Serving as a quality control staff member
      • Approving the SSHP by signature
