Mandated Service: Contractors are required by the US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1, Section 36-3.d to assign a Safety and Health Manager (SHM) for all environmental cleanup and investigation projects. The regulations mandate that the SHM must be a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH®). Our U.S. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH®) is fully qualified to fulfill this critical role.

SHM Responsibilities:

  • Developing, reviewing, and overseeing the implementation of the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
  • Providing technical and management support to the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
